Meet La'Shay Brooks, Prospective Therapist



La’Shay has worked in the mental health field with individuals with mental disabilities for over 10 years. She graduated high school in 2008, took a break then went to college where she earned her Associate’s degree in social sciences At Essex County College. She then went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree where she majored in Psychology and minored in Sociology at Rutgers University Newark, where she was also a member of Psi Chi honor Society and the mentorship program Psychology Professionals of Tomorrow. She is currently obtaining her Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Montclair State University. For many years La’Shay’s main goal was to become a Licensed Therapist so she can help better her community.

La’Shay grew up in Irvington, NJ with both parents and her siblings. Growing up in an Urban neighborhood she have seen and experienced so many things good and bad. What she wants is for more people of color to come forward and talk to someone about their life, and what they are feeling so they can possibly better their life experiences. La’ Shay is excited about doing the work in her community to help individuals help themselves communicate better and heal themselves.
